Rubio Commemorates The 54th Anniversary Of The Bay Of Pigs

U.S. Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) issued the following statement regarding the 54th anniversary of the Bay of Pigs invasion:

“On April 17, 1961, 1,500 brave men volunteered for a mission to liberate Cuba from Fidel Castro’s grip. Over the next four days, nearly 100 members of the Brigada de Asalto 2506 (Assault Brigade 2506) lost their lives, including four American pilots and five others who were captured and executed. The majority were captured and imprisoned for many months and years in inhumane conditions.

“Fifty-four years after their sacrifice, at a time when the Obama Administration continues to turn a blind eye toward the brutality of the Cuban regime, we must remember the sacrifices of Brigade 2506, and of the thousands of dissident activists who since then have carried the torch and taken up the cause of a free Cuba. We must recommit ourselves to the universal right of every man, woman and child to be free – in Cuba and elsewhere around the world.

“Cuba has done nothing to earn the legitimacy President Obama continues to bestow on the regime. Just last week, days before President Obama was set to meet with Cuban President Raúl Castro, Cuban regime thugs beat up several Cuban dissident leaders and American citizens visiting Panama for the Summit of the Americas.

“I call on the Obama Administration to not let the sacrifices of the men who died on this day 54 years ago, and of the thousands who have taken up the cause since then, to be in vain. As normalization talks move to the next phase, President Obama should demand full respect for the Cuban people’s human rights.”

Rubio Calls On Panama To Welcome Democracy Activists At Summit Of The Americas

U.S. Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL), the chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee’s Subcommittee on Western Hemisphere, Transnational Crime, Civilian Security, Democracy, Human Rights and Global Women’s Issues, today issued the following statement in response to Panama’s detainment of Cuban activist Rosa María Payá the week before hosting the Summit of the Americas:

“The reports that emerged out of Panama this weekend do not bode well for the Summit of the Americas and its supposed commitment to democracy and the right to free expression of all people who live in this hemisphere. I am very concerned by reports of detentions, interrogations, searches and threats made against members of Cuba’s real civil society, including Rosa María Payá.

“I call on the Panamanian government to guarantee that all members of Cuba’s democratic movement, along with those from Venezuela and every other country, be welcomed to the Summit and encouraged to exercise their free speech rights.

“What happened in Panama’s airport this weekend sent a chilling message to members of Cuba’s pro-democracy movement, one that cannot go unanswered. President Obama’s Cuba policy and his support for Raul Castro’s participation in this Summit have sent the wrong kind of message to the rest of the hemisphere that being democratic and respecting human rights are negotiable and no longer prerequisites for participating in this forum. The President and his administration must make sure that members of Cuba’s real civil society are never again intimidated and threatened the way they have been so far.”

April is Stress Awareness Month

No Homeowners Association

Dr. Gary Solomon, an expert on stress,  has been researching the effects of stress on people, specifically those living in Homeowners Associations (HOAs). In his latest on-line book, HOA: Crisis in America, http://www.hoacrisisinamerica.com, he reveals the scientific research that substantiates how modern day stress is negatively affecting our lives. Stress is the number one reason for medical and psychological illnesses in America.

“That which once helped us survive has become the scourge of our lives… Stress is not a state of mind, but something measurable and dangerous.” www.hoacrisisinamerica.com — Hour 1.

Stress as defined in, http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/stress:

a :  a state of mental tension and worry caused by problems in your life, work, etc.

b :  something that causes strong feeling of worry or anxiety

c :  a physical, chemical, or emotional factor that causes bodily or mental tension and may be a factor in disease causation

d :  a state resulting from a stress; especially :  one of bodily or mental tension resulting from factors that tend to alter an existent equilibrium <job-related stress>

The science of stress explains how those living in a HOA community can experience HOA Syndrome, an anxiety disorder. Dr. Solomon fathered, defined and popularized the anxiety disorder, HOA Syndrome, a disorder similar to PTSD, with such symptoms as anger, tired and fatigued, anxious, irritable, unhappy in your own home, depressed and sad, worried, hopelessness, sleeping disorders/nightmares, fear of going to the mailbox, paranoia. All of the aforementioned is associated with the constant unrelenting rumination and dwelling on HOA problems caused by longitudinal harassment and abuse.

There is no denying that HOAs harass and abuse homeowners. Homeowners become stressed due to the harassment and abuse. Stress leads to physical and psychological problems. Stress can lead to serious health disorders and illnesses. Stress can lead to death.

Visit your medical doctor, psychotherapist, friend, religious leader, or mentor and let them know you are feeling stressed and why. There is no shame in sharing your feelings and it is possible that you may find resolution and peace.

Stress is serious and should not be taken lightly or dismissed as a part of  life. If you are experiencing negative stress; work, school, relationships, HOAs, or money, it is important to address these issues to lessen your stress levels and have a happier and healthier life.
